I love this kitchen as well; something calm and relaxing about it.

I love how the color in this kitchen comes the dishes on the open shelving...one of these days I'm going to finally start buying Fiestaware and do this in my kitchen...

Bright turquoise table amidst a sea of bright white cabinets AND a wine cooler/cocktail station?? I'm officially in love with this kitchen. I don't even care if it has a stove or oven... ;)

Ok, you can lose the flowers- I'm not buying that people actually have fresh cut flowers in their LAUNDRY room, but I do love this room. With all that natural light and serene blue, it could ALMOST makes laundry seem meditative. As opposed to a the mind-numbing, tedious job it really is.

I find myself falling more in love with white rooms that have big punches of color. It must be the pendulum swinging other way from the brightly colored walls I had in my house a mere six months ago. Anyways, I love the painted cabinets and island, the openness of this kitchen, and that dog portrait makes me want to do one of my dog, Jasper.

I subscribe a more blogs than I have time to read, so I end up scrolling through the design pics fairly quickly. The good thing is that when a picture makes me stop, scroll back, and really take it in, I know it's something good. The soft green, all the white, that side table, and that big, deep tub in front of that big, bright window and under those sky lights. Looks like a divine place to spend an afternoon...

This nook caught my eye..I imagine it in the corner of a kitchen perhaps? Nice high top with a stool for sitting at while meal planning, bill paying, staring out the window...

This kitchen originally appeared in Coastal Living magazine last summer and continues to resurface. I love the white cabinets, the glass tiles, the retro appliances, the lighting, the turquoise...I WANT THIS KITCHEN!!

One of the things I want in my next house is a screened-in pool and lanai for sangria sipping and lazy day lounging. I'm ignoring the fact that all the furniture in this picture is white and that this space is bigger than my current living room, and pretending that I'll have an outdoor area like this one day.

Love how balanced this kitchen looks and the alternating closed cabinets/open shelves. This is a bit more doable than having all open shelves, which looks great, but I suspect is impractical for keeping neat and tidy.

I love the idea of wallpaper or hand-printed cloths as wall hangings that can be taken down and used as rotating table runners.

Love the bench for sitting, love the hangers mounted on the wood gate (paint it white for me though) and love the box on the bench for storage. Replace the coats with beach bags and the shoes with flip flops and it's perfect for a beach cottage.

This might be a bit bright for some, but I love all the possibilities this idea holds. I'd love to do this in shades of blue, creating some sort of deep sea effect. Since it is paper, however, I wonder how long until I could do something like this in a child's room. My two-year-old would have the bottom half of this wall ripped off in about ten minutes.

How fun are these? Clever, but not kitschy. Very cool.

Another banquette...obviously I'm still obsessed with this idea. I do like that it's at the end of a galley style kitchen, since that is what I have. Ideas are still brewing...

I repainted my living room walls a few months back but have yet to hang shelves. I wanted big long shelves with a lip along the front so I could prop frames up on them, thus allowing for a quick change. Unfortunately the walls in my house are crooked and a five foot shelf against the wall created a two inch gap on one end if the other end was flush against the wall. I'm still contemplating solutions. I love the clothes line idea, but I'm not sure I can pull it off for my living room. Plus, I have prints that I want to put into frames to preserve them. Perhaps I'll incorporate this into my studio or J's room for photos and artwork. Thoughts?

I'm in love with the bright colors set against the white on this quilt. I picture this in some whitewashed little beach cottage, perhaps out on a little couch that sits on your wraparound porch, for those chilly nights when the breeze is coming in off the water. That just reminded me, I had a dream last night about buying a fixer-upper on the water. Hmm...wouldn't that be nice?

Love the placement of the table by the window and the lamp over the table rather than a chandelier. My fave thing is the bench seating on the back side. I need a bench for my table- bench seating is the epitome of laid back and relaxed dining.
